‘It is one of the strangest ironies of this life that those who work the hardest, subject themselves to the strictest discipline, who give up certain pleasurable things in order to achieve a goals are the happiest of men.’ –Brutus Hamilton, US Olympic Track and Field Coach.
I love this quote. It changed my mission, and my life. in a very honest sense, if we live by this creed, by giving us certain pleasurable things to obtain a goal, we are focus, we are pursuing something of value, and we avoid distraction. Happiness is not in achieving a goal, it is becoming someone worthy of that goal.
